Forbidden (The Red Dirt Stories)

Brooke Cooper returned to her hometown in Garrison, Oklahoma, to complete her college internship. Her father, Sheriff Copper, assigned her to intern with Deputy Wade West, a good-looking cowboy set in his ways who liked to work alone.

While searching for a missing teenager at the lake, Brooke stumbled upon a secret that her high school sweetheart, Garrison Police Officer Cole Freeland, had been keeping. A secret that forced her to trust Wade, the very deputy who despised her.

Mysterious muddy boot prints and shadows lurking in the night make her question everything that she has ever known. She quickly learns that there are a few people whom she can trust. In a strange turn of events, Brooke finds herself the number one suspect in the most gruesome double murder this small town has ever seen.
